Safety award companies: 6 options for trucking fleets, compared from their own pages

Six safety award companies for fleets as of October 2026: what each sells, published prices, FMCSA guidance on what to reward and a program spec sheet.

By the Driver Appreciation Solutions Team · 6 min read

Safety award companies supply the pins, plaques, gifts or points programs that recognize safe work. For trucking fleets, the main options are the National Safety Council for safe driver pins, C.A. Short and Awards Network for safety incentive programs, Awards.com and Successories for engraved awards, and Driver Appreciation Solutions for curated safe-driver and safe-miles recognition.

The six safety award companies covered below, in no ranked order:

  1. National Safety Council (NSC)
  2. C.A. Short Company
  3. Awards Network
  4. Awards.com
  5. Successories
  6. Driver Appreciation Solutions (DAS)

Every vendor fact comes from the vendor's own website, read on October 22, 2026, and is linked at the claim. Confirm details before you order. If you want a safe-driver program curated and delivered for you, request a quote from a DAS fleet specialist.

What to reward: start with the federal guidance

A safety award program is only as good as what it rewards. The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) addresses this in its Safety Management Cycle for the Unsafe Driving BASIC, dated January 2013. Under "Meaningful Action" it suggests carriers "design and implement incentives and/or recognition programs in order to reward and encourage safe driving behavior," for example "bonuses, gift certificates, and/or verbal recognition for clean inspections, no crashes, and/or fuel efficiency." The same document warns: "Do not use on-time delivery incentives, which could encourage speeding."

As of October 2026, that document is guidance, not a regulation. FMCSA does not require a safety award program. Recognition supports a safety culture alongside training, fair pay and good equipment; results vary by fleet operations and program execution.

The six safety recognition companies

1. National Safety Council (NSC)

The National Safety Council sells Safe Driver Award items in its online shop. As of October 2026, its 10-year pin page describes rose gold lapel pins for drivers who have driven 1 through 45 years "without a preventable incident," lists the 10-year pin at $5.92, and offers matching arm patches. The items are marked "restricted," require a login to buy, and the buyer certifies they will go "only to eligible employees" under the NSC's Safe Driver Award Program Rule Book. The shop says members save up to 25%.

Fits fleets that want a long-standing, rule-based safe-driving standard with year-by-year pins.

2. C.A. Short Company

C.A. Short runs a safety incentive program inside its recognition platform. As of October 2026, its safety recognition page describes behavior-based software that rewards "daily safe habits," with achievements reinforced "with points that can be redeemed for quality rewards." Its transportation page says it can "integrate with your telematics system to automatically track safe driving behaviors," turning data "like safe miles driven into real-time appreciation."

Fits fleets that want safety recognition driven by telematics data, with a points catalog.

3. Awards Network

Awards Network sells two safety formats. As of October 2026, its safety award programs page describes single safety awards with "four customizable presentation options" and "15 price levels, starting at $25," each with "over 100 brand name items," where the worker selects the reward online, by fax or by mail. Its safety incentive option lets employees accrue points over time, with rewards from $20 to $6,000, and the page lists driver safety among the goals it designs for. Delivery within the 48 contiguous states is at no shipping charge, per the same page.

Fits fleets that want drivers to choose a brand-name gift at a set level, by mail if needed.

4. Awards.com

Awards.com sells engraved safety awards and trophies. As of October 2026, its safety awards page names trucking fleets among the employers that run recurring safety programs, advertises "free engraving, free art proof, no order minimum, and no billing until it ships," and states that "standard production is 5 to 7 business days after proof approval, plus transit."

Fits fleets that want engraved plaques or perpetual awards for terminals, ordered online.

5. Successories

Successories sells safety-themed gifts and awards. As of October 2026, its safety gifts page lists "branded safety gear, awards, and appreciation gifts," engraved plaques and trophies "for recognizing safety milestones," and sample options before a bulk order.

Fits fleets that want safety-themed merchandise alongside plaques, and will run the program themselves.

6. Driver Appreciation Solutions (DAS)

Driver Appreciation Solutions is a specialist in recognition programs for the trucking industry, focused on curated driver appreciation and fulfillment. Its Safe Driver Award is a curated program built to each organization's preferences; a printed certificate may be part of it, depending on the organization. Safety and career recognition run on separate tracks, with Safe Service Miles medals from 1 million to 6 million miles; the 250K and 500K medals are coming soon. Every piece carries the fleet's logo, driver names and colors with no setup fee and no artwork charge, and delivery goes to a terminal, one hub or individual drivers across the United States. The company buys the program; DAS sets no KPI requirement, and the fleet decides who qualifies. The minimum order is 10 units on all items. Pricing is quoted per program. Request current pricing.

Fits fleets that want curated safe-driver recognition with fulfillment handled for them. See safe driver award programs and driver milestone awards.

Safety incentive vs safety recognition

Safety incentive award companies and safety recognition companies sell different things. An incentive program promises a reward in advance for hitting a target; drivers know the target and work toward it. A recognition program marks a safe record after the fact, usually with an award presented in front of peers. C.A. Short's and Awards Network's points options are incentive-style. NSC pins, engraved awards and DAS's curated programs are recognition-style. Many fleets run both, and FMCSA's guidance above applies to either: reward safe outcomes, never speed.

Your safety award program spec sheet

Fill in one row per award before you ask any safety award company for a quote. If a cell is blank, the vendor will fill it with its default, which may not suit drivers.

Field Your answer (example)
Award name Safe Driver Award, year 5
What earns it 12 months with no preventable crash and no out-of-service violation
Who decides "preventable" Safety director, using a written standard
Data source Crash register and roadside records
Who is eligible Company drivers with 12 months of service
Separate from years of service? Yes
Award Fleet-branded piece, curated for the level
Presented by Terminal manager, at the safety meeting
Delivered to Terminal, or the driver's home for long-haul drivers
Ordered by Safety, each quarter

Keep safety and tenure apart so a 20-year driver with one incident still receives the service award; our planned list of service award companies covers that side. For ways to mark the moment itself, see our planned post on safety milestone celebration ideas.

Choosing a safety award company

Decide first whether you want incentive-style points or recognition-style awards, then fill in the spec sheet. Send it to two vendors and compare written answers, especially on who decides eligibility and where the award is delivered.

For a curated safe-driver program delivered to terminals or drivers across the United States, request pricing from a DAS fleet specialist. A specialist replies in writing within one business day.
